Letter no 81 — September 26, 2021
Hey there.
It’s Fall.
At last, the weather outside is a dream come true — screw Virginia’s humidity and mosquitoes.
Yesterday, I put all the kids’ summer clothes away, although there’s a very high chance the temperature will rise again. I don’t care. They’ll have to handle wearing fleece at 80 degrees in the shade.
The crisp morning air made me forage pinecones this morning, as I giggled, blowing steam out of my mouth.
I also made soup and switched comforters.
I’m handing unsolicited advice about layering and how to tie a scarf (as a Canadian, I think I’m a pro).
More often than not, I sound like Adriene, who’s about to lead one of her amazing yoga sessions (if you don’t know Adriene, which I don’t believe, head over to her YouTube channel.)
Aside from busting my hips in butterfly pose, I’m cooking more, walking more, and reading more.
What can I say? Beginnings and new seasons make me happy. They give me a renewed sense of control. After the past couple of weeks of illness and puke, I welcome a sense of peace.
